Just when it seemed like Indiana Feek’s recovery was finally moving in the right direction, her family faced another terrifying chapter they never expected.
After returning home from her successful heart surgery, Indiana was laughing, smiling, and slowly getting back to the life she loves. Rory and Rebecca Feek were grateful to have their little girl back in Waco, believing the hardest part of the journey was finally behind them.

Late one night, Indiana suddenly became seriously ill. What first appeared to be a simple stomach illness quickly escalated into a medical emergency. As her condition rapidly worsened, she lost consciousness, leaving her family fearing the unimaginable.
She was rushed to a local hospital before doctors made the urgent decision to transport her by Life Flight to Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, where the team that had performed her heart surgery was waiting.

Doctors discovered a dangerous buildup of fluid surrounding Indiana’s heart, preventing it from beating properly. She was taken into emergency surgery, where surgeons carefully drained an astonishing 610 cc of fluid from around her heart.

Her heart began beating normally again, her color returned, and she slowly started waking up with the same bright spirit that has inspired so many people throughout this journey.
Although Indiana still faces weeks of recovery and careful monitoring, her doctors remain optimistic that she will continue healing well.
