Rory Feek’s Daughter Reveals Shocking Family Secret After More Than Three Decades
Recently, Hope Feek – the middle daughter of country singer Rory Feek – shared a deeply personal and emotional revelation that stunned fans everywhere. In an Instagram post, Hope, whose full name is Sarah Hope Feek, revealed that a DNA test confirmed what she had long suspected: Rory is not her biological father.
Hope, now 36, is the middle of three sisters—her older sister Heidi is two years her senior, and her younger half-sister Indiana was born in 2014. In her heartfelt message, Hope said she had always felt different, and now she understands why. The DNA test identified her biological father as a man named BC. Within just 24 hours of receiving the news, BC visited Hope, hugged her, and called her his daughter—a moment she described as the first time she had experienced true, unconditional love.
Rory responded to the news in a moving blog post on his site This Life I Live, titled A Different Dad. He recalled the events of early 1988 when he returned from military service and his then-wife Tamara told him she was pregnant. At the time, the timeline of the pregnancy seemed to make sense—though a doctor did note that Hope appeared to be two weeks overdue, not early. Rory brushed off the comment and went on to raise both daughters after the marriage ended.
In his 2017 memoir, Rory admitted that the failure of his first marriage was largely his fault, citing his own infidelity. After the divorce, he raised Heidi and Hope as a single father and never questioned his bond with either of them.
Despite the shocking revelation, Rory made it clear that his love for Hope remains unchanged. In his latest blog post, he wrote: “I love you as my daughter, and I always will. I’m sad and disappointed it took three decades to learn this, but most of all, I hurt for Hope and her mother.”
Hope also revealed that she reconnected with her biological mother last year and is now building a relationship with her. As for her biological father, they are growing closer every day and discovering how much they have in common.
Hope’s story—and Rory’s response—is a powerful reminder of the complexities of family, the strength of unconditional love, and the human capacity for forgiveness and growth. As Rory wrote in his blog: “Every day we have the opportunity to change, to grow, and to become who we wish we had been before—to be different dads and moms, husbands and wives than we were before.”
