“Rubberneckin’ (Paul Oakenfold Remix)” is a 2003 reimagining of Elvis Presley’s 1969 track “Rubberneckin’,” originally recorded at American Sound Studio in Memphis. The original song was featured in Presley’s final film, Change of Habit, and served as the B-side to his single “Don’t Cry Daddy”.

In 2003, following the success of Junkie XL’s remix of “A Little Less Conversation,” BMG enlisted renowned British DJ and producer Paul Oakenfold to remix “Rubberneckin’.” Oakenfold’s version introduced a fresh danceable rhythm while preserving the essence of the original track. The remix was released as a single and included in the compilation album Elvis 2nd to None, which featured a selection of Presley’s greatest hits.

The remix achieved notable success on international charts, reaching number two in Canada, number three in Australia, and entering the top 10 in Denmark, Finland, Ireland, and the United Kingdom . In the UK, it debuted at number five on the singles chart, marking Elvis’s 59th top 10 hit in Britain.

“Rubberneckin’ (Paul Oakenfold Remix)” stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of Elvis Presley’s music, bridging the gap between classic rock and contemporary dance, and introducing a new generation to the King of Rock and Roll.
