Heidi Feek Renovates Indiana’s Bedroom Amid Heartbreaking Rift with Father Rory Feek
Singer-songwriter Heidi Feek is holding on to hope as she awaits a reunion with her younger sister, Indiana Feek, amid an emotional and complex family dispute with their father, country singer Rory Feek.
Heidi recently took to Instagram to share a deeply personal update — she has renovated Indiana’s bedroom in her Alabama home, hoping that one day her 10-year-old sister will be able to visit again. The pink room, lovingly decorated with a canopy bed, toys, and a touching affirmation sign that ends with “I am Indy,” is a testament to Heidi’s enduring love for her sister. “So [baby sis] has her room back waiting for her,” she wrote, describing the project as an act of “self care.”
However, Heidi clarified that Indiana has not returned home and that the room’s makeover is simply a hopeful gesture. “I’m sorry if my optimism was confusing,” she added. “I continue to hope she will be able to visit us someday soon.”
The family has been entangled in a tense legal and emotional battle since early September, when Heidi and her sister Hopie filed legal action against Rory. The details remain confidential due to Indiana’s age, but at the heart of the conflict are differing worldviews and questions surrounding Indiana’s upbringing.
Rory, who has custody of Indiana following the 2016 passing of her mother Joey Feek, has said he stopped allowing sleepovers with her sisters because they did not respect his parental boundaries. He maintains that Indiana misses her sisters, but cites disagreements over entertainment and lifestyle choices as a barrier.
Heidi, meanwhile, has voiced concerns about Indiana’s well-being, particularly regarding Rory’s ties to Homestead Heritage, a faith-based community she alleges has a “troubling history.” Despite legal pushback and a defamation lawsuit, Heidi remains resolute in her advocacy.
“I really just want to be in my little sister’s life,” she said. “And I can’t. I’m trying to do the right thing.”
