Rory and Joey Feek’s Most Touching Family Moments

The story of Rory and Joey Feek — a couple bound by love, faith, and music — is one that has touched countless hearts. Through triumphs and trials, they showed the world what it means to hold on to love and family, even in the most heartbreaking moments.

When Joey entered hospice care after ending her cancer treatments in October, Rory began documenting their journey — not just the pain, but also the beauty that remained. Amid the chaos, Joey’s top priority was always their daughter, Indiana — their sweet 2-year-old girl.

From potty training to tender moments before surgery, Joey continued to be a loving and present mother. During one of her final hospital visits, she sang Indy to sleep with a soft hymn. She also recorded her voice reading books, so Indy could one day sit on her father’s lap and still hear her mama’s voice through the pages. Rory wrote, “Joey’s hope is that our little one will be able to turn pages and hear her mama reading to her.”

Looking back on their wedding, Rory remembers Joey placing a ring not only on his finger, but also on the fingers of his two daughters, Heidi and Hope — a moment that symbolized the family they had become. Years later, those same girls returned home, this time to say goodbye.

Another emotional memory was when Joey, after losing her hair during treatment, was joined by her three sisters and best friend — all of whom shaved their heads in solidarity, surrounding her with strength and love.

For Joey’s 40th birthday, Rory gave her a horse — a dream she’d carried since childhood after losing her first one. He said, “The best time to love someone and make their dreams come true is today.”

Though the diagnosis was terminal, they refused to live by a calendar. Rory wrote, “So we don’t have forever. We’ve got right now. And that’s enough.”
