Rory Feek Shares Emotional Video In Remembrance Of His Late Wife
On Tuesday, August 19, country singer Rory Feek shared a clip of a heart-wrenching video he recorded for his song “Me & The Blues.”
Although he recently shared it, the music video and song aren’t new.
“Me & The Blues,” which features Vince Gill, was first released in 2021 as part of Rory’s solo album Gentle Man.
However, the song will always be meaningful to Rory, no matter how much time passes. “Me & The Blues” is one of the many songs he has dedicated to his late wife, Joey.
Joey Feek passed away in 2016 after battling cancer. Rory and Joey were married for nearly 15 years before her death. Together, they shared a daughter, named Indiana, who is almost 11 years old now.

Along with re-sharing the music video, Rory wrote a touching caption that gave more insight into the song’s background.
The clip is one of the most emotional that Rory has ever filmed. In it, he’s seen reading a Valentine’s Day card as he cries. The card is the last handwritten note that Joey ever gave him before she passed.
“Getting over the loss of beloved loved one is never easy. Sometimes the grief will sneak up and overcome you when you least expect it,” Rory wrote.
He went on to say that even though the scene was filmed five years after Joey’s passing, “in my heart, it still felt like yesterday.”
What some fans might not know is that Rory didn’t originally write “Me & The Blues” for this reason.
He revealed that he actually wrote the song 20 years ago, around the time he moved out of Nashville.
“I of course, had no idea at the time the lyric would hit home in a much more profound way a couple of decades later,” he added.
