“Duck Dynasty” Stars Slam ‘Woke’ Leadership, Warn of the Decline of Major U.S. Cities

During a January 8 episode of the Unashamed with the Robertson Family podcast, “Duck Dynasty” stars Al Robertson and Jase Robertson strongly criticized what they described as “woke” leadership, arguing that it has contributed to the decline of major American cities.

Al Robertson pointed to Seattle as a prime example, claiming the city has turned away from biblical principles of “dominion” — the responsibility to steward society according to God’s design — in favor of what he called “idolatry.” According to Al, this shift has led to increasing chaos, rising safety concerns, and a steady loss of social order over the years.

Echoing those views, Jase Robertson said similar patterns are visible in cities such as San Francisco. He argued that when societies abandon their role as caretakers of creation under God’s authority, moral and cultural decline becomes inevitable.

The Robertson brothers’ comments quickly drew attention, sparking renewed debate over the role of faith, traditional values, and leadership philosophies in shaping the future of America’s largest cities.
