After days of anxious waiting and countless prayers from family, friends, and fans around the world, Rory Feek has shared the joyful news everyone had been hoping to hear.
His 12-year-old daughter, Indiana Feek, came through her open-heart surgery successfully. Doctors were able to repair the hole in her heart, clear the blockages, and are optimistic that she will recover fully and enjoy a long, healthy life.
For those who have followed Joey + Rory over the years, Indiana has always held a special place in their hearts. Many watched her grow up after the heartbreaking loss of her mother, Joey Feek, and have continued to lift her up in prayer through every chapter of her young life.
The hours leading up to surgery were filled with simple, precious moments. Indiana spent time playing Uno, cuddling her beloved doll Rosemary, and smiling as a young friend played the tambourine nearby. When she finally drifted off to sleep, Rory and Rebecca gently kissed her goodbye before walking into one of the longest waits any parent can imagine. Friends traveled from Waco just to stand beside them, offering prayers and unwavering support.
Now Indiana is resting in the ICU, beginning the road to recovery. Rory shared that when she heard her father’s voice after surgery, tears filled her eyes. She was scared and hurting, while her family could only hold back their own tears, grateful that she had made it safely through such a difficult operation.
Perhaps the most touching moment came just before the surgery, when Indiana quietly told her father, “I don’t want the surgery. I want the miracle.”
Today, her family believes that miracle has begun.
