Introduction

10 YEARS AGO — RORY FEEK TURNED HIS MEMORIES OF JOEY INTO “TO JOEY, WITH LOVE,” A DEEPLY PERSONAL STORY OF LOVE, FAITH, AND GOODBYE ❤️
Some love stories do not end when one person is gone. They continue through photographs, memories, songs, and the moments that were carefully preserved along the way. That is the heart behind Rory Feek’s To Joey, With Love, the 2016 documentary created as a lasting tribute to his wife, Joey Feek.
The film grew from hundreds of hours of footage Rory had recorded during the years he and Joey shared together. He began filming in 2014, around the time the couple stepped away from their busy career to simplify their lives and prepare for the arrival of their daughter, Indiana. What began as an ordinary record of family life eventually became something far more meaningful.
The documentary follows Joey and Rory through some of the most important chapters of their lives: welcoming Indiana, facing Joey’s cancer diagnosis and recurrence, and living through the final months of Joey’s illness. Rather than showing only the painful ending, Rory wanted people to see the woman Joey was before those final days — her warmth, faith, family devotion, humor, and love.
Rory described the film as a gift to Joey, their daughters, family, friends, and everyone who loved her. To Joey, With Love premiered in theaters in September 2016 and received additional limited theatrical screenings later that fall.
Years later, the film remains a deeply emotional portrait of a marriage, a family, and a woman whose story Rory wanted the world to remember—not only for how she died, but for how she lived. ❤️
