In a deeply emotional letter, Heidi Feek — daughter of country music singer Rory Feek — has publicly spoken out about a family dispute involving the care of her youngest sister Indiana, who has Down syndrome. Heidi shared her letter with People magazine and later on Instagram, responding to Rory’s blog post titled “Love, Dad,” in which he expressed heartbreak over his daughters’ accusations.
The conflict centers around allegations that Rory has limited the contact between his older daughters, Heidi (37) and Hopie (35), and their 10-year-old sister Indiana — daughter of Rory and his late wife, Joey Feek. Heidi and Hopie voiced concerns about Indiana’s safety and well-being, accusing Rory of isolating her from them, and are reportedly considering legal action to restore their right to see their sister.
In her letter, Heidi not only raises concerns for Indiana but also reveals painful memories from their childhood, including moments of abandonment by Rory. Despite these deep wounds, she repeatedly emphasized forgiveness toward her father.
One particularly emotional point was Heidi’s reaction to Rory’s claim that Indiana “has never been more loved or better cared for” and that “for the first time in her life, she has a mother” — referring to his new wife, Rebecca, whom he married in July 2024. Heidi found this statement hurtful, considering the love and devotion Indiana’s late mother, Joey, had for her.
Additionally, Heidi and Hopie voiced concerns about Homestead Heritage — a religious community that Rory and Rebecca are now part of — which has faced past allegations of child abuse. Dylan admitted that he had sometimes bent Rory’s strict rules, such as letting Indiana listen to Disney and Whitney Houston songs, actions that were rooted in simply wanting to bring her joy.
