Introduction
When the Past Meets the Present
Every now and then, life surprises us with moments that gently tug at the heart—and today was one of those.
We walked into Murdoch’s Ranch Store in Miles City, Montana, and there it was: a Roper display still hanging on the wall from a photo shoot Joey and I did nearly 15 years ago. What a beautiful thing to stumble upon—a piece of our past, still standing proud after all these years.
It was especially sweet for Indiana to see her mama that way—captured in a moment of grace and strength. For her to connect with a part of our story through an image frozen in time… it meant so much.
And for me, getting to meet some of the local folks who still remember our music—who carry it in their hearts even now—that was a gift. A quiet reminder that the things we pour our love into can outlast time, and sometimes, the past finds its way back to us in the most tender ways.
