Rory’s battle with cancer began in April 2023 when he was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. Despite undergoing surgery and grueling rounds of treatment, he refused to let illness extinguish his creative spirit. By July of that same year, he was back in the recording studio, creating music that carried even deeper layers of vulnerability and hope. His openness in sharing his journey inspired countless fans, reminding them of the importance of resilience, early detection, and cherishing life’s simplest moments.

Following the heartbreaking loss of his wife, Joey Martin Feek, to cervical cancer in 2016, Rory dedicated himself to raising their daughter, Indiana, who was born with Down syndrome.
