Singer and entertainer Marie Osmond has shared a heartfelt tribute following the passing of her beloved brother, Wayne Osmond, a cherished member of the iconic Osmond family. Wayne passed away on January 1 in Salt Lake City at the age of 73, following a stroke.
After a nine-month hiatus from social media to spend time with her family and focus on personal matters, Marie returned on January 8 to post an emotional message on Instagram. She revealed that she had recently felt a strong “spiritual pull” to visit Wayne just weeks before his passing. “I will cherish those hours I spent with him for the rest of my life,” she wrote. “I didn’t know that just a few days after my visit, he would suffer a massive stroke.”
Marie described Wayne as “one of the most loving men I have ever known,” and reflected on the joyful, humorous moments they shared, as well as the deep and uplifting conversations they had over the years. “He was always my safe place to go when I needed advice,” she said.
Wayne wasn’t only a musical talent but also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Marie praised his deep love for his wife, Kathy, their children, and grandchildren. She also highlighted his unwavering faith in God, which remained a constant in his life.
In closing her tribute, Marie expressed her love and grief with powerful words:
“Wayne, I could not cherish the gift God gave me more than to be loved by you in this life. You are a truly loving brother, and I will miss you so very much. I testify eternally of my great love for you with every fiber of my heart and soul. Till we meet again.”
Marie also extended her sympathy to others experiencing similar loss: “I know many of you understand these feelings from losing your precious loved ones. My deepest prayers are with you.”
Wayne’s passing was first shared on social media by his brothers Donny, Merrill, and Jay on January 2. Donny wrote, “My dear brother Wayne passed away peacefully last night from a stroke. I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to visit him in the hospital before he passed.”
