Marie Osmond’s Miraculous Love Story: Remarrying Her First Husband — “We Appreciate Each Other More Than Ever”
Marie Osmond — the iconic American singer known for the timeless hit “Paper Roses” — has experienced many twists and turns in her personal life. But it was her first love, a relationship that ended decades ago, that found its way back into her life and brought her lasting happiness in her later years.
Marie first married Steve Craig, a former basketball player, in 1982 when she was just 22 years old. The couple welcomed their son, Stephen James Craig, shortly after. However, the pressures of fame and a busy career took their toll, and the marriage ended in 1985. Marie went on to marry again, but that union also ended in 2007.
Then came an unexpected miracle. With the help of their son, Marie and Steve reconnected — and what they rediscovered was a love that had never truly faded. In 2011, they remarried in a ceremony at the Las Vegas Mormon Temple, with Marie wearing the same dress from their wedding nearly 30 years before. “I never thought I’d marry again,” Marie confessed. “But we found each other again, and this time, it’s deeper, more peaceful, and full of appreciation.”
She credits their successful second marriage to maturity, mutual respect, and, above all, laughter. “We love doing the simplest things together — watching Netflix, eating popcorn, or just talking,” she shared. “He’s my best friend.” Marie believes their time apart helped them grow and better understand each other’s value.
Though she continues to perform, release albums, and star in films, Marie says her greatest joy now comes from being a grandmother and spending time with family. “Health and family — that’s what matters most,” she said. “And I truly feel blessed.”
This is a love story about forgiveness, second chances, and the enduring power of the heart — proving that true happiness can come when you least expect it, as long as your heart is still open to love.
