Today is a day filled with hope, faith, and courage for 12-year-old Indiana Feek.
Indiana, the beloved daughter of country singer Rory Feek and his late wife Joey Feek, is undergoing open-heart surgery this morning at Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas. Surgeons will repair a hole in her heart—a condition she has carried since birth.
For years, doctors hoped the defect would heal naturally. They watched, waited, and prayed that time would bring improvement. But after more than a decade of careful monitoring, the opening remained, and now surgery has become necessary.
Indiana’s journey has never been an easy one.
When she was just a toddler, she experienced a loss no child should ever have to endure. In 2016, her mother, Joey Feek, passed away after a courageous battle with cervical cancer. Since then, Indiana has grown up with the love and guidance of her father while carrying the memory of the mother she barely had the chance to know.
Now, she faces another difficult challenge.
Rory recently shared a heartbreaking moment between father and daughter as they prepared for the procedure. Through tears, Indiana looked at him and said:
“I don’t want the surgery, Papa. I want the miracle.”
Her words touched countless hearts.
According to Rory, Indiana has a deep faith and believes wholeheartedly in the power of prayer. She knows that miracles happen, and she has been praying for one herself.
Last Sunday, more than a thousand members of her church gathered to pray for her health, strength, and healing. Today, that circle of prayer extends far beyond the walls of their church.
