🚨 12-year-old Indiana Feek prays for a “miracle” before heart surgery, then is emergency airlifted 2 weeks later ⚡
Hours before open-heart surgery, 12-year-old Indiana Feek was holding her doll, Rosemary, playing Uno, and trying to be brave.
She looked at her father, Rory Feek, through tears and said: “I don’t want surgery, Papa. I want a miracle.”
It wasn’t that Indiana didn’t understand the surgery.
She just hoped to wake up with a healed heart and her family by her side.Có thể là hình ảnh về trẻ em, cười, bệnh viện và văn bản
Indiana was born in 2014 with Down syndrome and a ventricular septal defect.
Doctors initially hoped the hole would close on its own.
But over time, it affected her stamina.
By early 2026, specialists recommended surgery to protect her long-term health.
The surgery was scheduled for June 24 at Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, but it was delayed until the following morning.
Rory admitted that the waiting day affected him more than it did Indiana.
While waiting, Indiana played with her doll Rosemary, played Uno, and tried to be strong.
When the surgery ended, the hole was closed, and other blockages were removed.
Doctors believe she will live a long and healthy life.

After being discharged, the family stayed near Austin until her follow-up appointment.
She went for walks, bought books, ate ice cream, and gradually returned to normal life.
When doctors finally gave the green light to return home near Waco, neighbors had prepared a comfortable room for her recovery.
The fridge was full of food, fresh flowers were on the table, and hundreds of letters from strangers had arrived for her.
Then, just a few days later, complications struck.
Around 2 a.m. on July 9, Indiana had a headache, vomited continuously, and lost consciousness.
Rory and Rebecca were panicked, weeping and begging for help.
“We thought we had lost her,” Rory wrote.
At the Waco hospital, doctors performed an emergency ultrasound and decided to airlift her to Austin.
Rebecca – despite her fear of heights – flew with her daughter on the rescue helicopter.

Doctors discovered that post-operative inflammation had caused a large amount of fluid to accumulate around her heart, putting pressure on it and making it difficult for it to beat normally.
Emergency surgery was performed to drain the fluid.
The doctor drained a total of 610cc of fluid – which caused the area around her heart to swell to twice its normal size, as if “an elephant was sitting on her chest.”
Fortunately, after treatment, Indiana regained consciousness, ate well, played Uno, colored, and is gradually recovering.
Rory shared that this experience helped the whole family feel “more alive and grateful than ever before.”
Indiana’s story is a testament to the power of miracles – sometimes miracles come through the hands of doctors, prayers, and family love.
Please continue to send prayers for Indiana Feek and the Rory Feek family.
Wishing her a full and speedy recovery! ❤️
