Some voices do not fade with time. They grow deeper, stronger, and more unforgettable.

At 72 years old, with his 73rd birthday just around the corner, Ronnie Dunn is still walking onto the stage and delivering the kind of raw country vocals most younger artists can only dream about.

Long before the awards, the sold-out arenas, and the legendary status, Ronnie was just a Texas kid chasing something bigger. Born in Coleman, Texas, he grew up moving from town to town across Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, attending 13 schools in 12 years while his father worked oil fields and drove trucks to support the family.

He even studied for the ministry before music finally pulled him toward Nashville.

Success did not come quickly. Ronnie spent years struggling as a solo artist, trying to find his place in a city full of dreamers. Then in 1990, Arista executive Tim DuBois paired him with Kix Brooks — and country music history changed forever.

Brooks & Dunn became more than a duo. They became a defining sound of modern country music.

18 ACM Duo of the Year awards.
More than 30 million albums sold.
20 number one hits.
Inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2019.

And now, even decades later, the story is still being written as the Neon Moon Tour prepares to launch in September 2026 with stops in Nashville, Evansville, and Fort Worth.

When fans worried after a difficult 2025 performance in Indianapolis, where Ronnie sat down mid-show and later exited during the encore, many wondered if the road was finally catching up to him.

But Ronnie Dunn did what legends do.

He came back.

Because real country music is not built on trends, image, or youth. It is built on heart, scars, experience, and a voice that carries every mile of the journey.

Ronnie Dunn is living proof that true country never gets old.
