In November 2023, she sat down with Piers Morgan for an unusually emotional interview, speaking publicly about the death of her only daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, and the painful losses that had come before it.
Priscilla revealed that she had lost her mother, then her grandson Benjamin Keough, and finally Lisa Marie. Benjamin died by suicide in 2020 at the age of 27, and Priscilla explained how deeply his death affected Lisa Marie. She described Benjamin as the love of his mother’s life and recalled how difficult Lisa Marie’s grief became.
Perhaps the most heartbreaking moment came when Priscilla remembered the final time she embraced Lisa Marie. After attending the Golden Globe Awards, mother and daughter went to the Chateau Marmont. Lisa Marie told her that her stomach hurt and that she needed to leave. Priscilla recalled that they hugged before going their separate ways. She later learned that this had been their final embrace. Lisa Marie died on January 12, 2023, aged 54, from complications of a small bowel obstruction.
The interview also returned to Elvis. Although their marriage ended in 1973, Priscilla spoke about the enduring affection she still felt for him, remembering his laughter, his love, and the extraordinary relationship they shared. Elvis died in 1977, yet Priscilla’s memories of him remain deeply intertwined with the story of her family.
