Wayne Osmond’s Final Moments with His Beloved Wife Kathleen Before Passing at 73

Beloved singer Wayne Osmond passed away on January 1, 2025, after suffering a stroke. He died peacefully at a hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, surrounded by his loving wife and five children. His passing marked the end of an era for fans of The Osmonds, who knew him for iconic hits such as One Bad Apple and Down by the Lazy River.

In the wake of his death, many have expressed a deep interest in learning more about the woman who stood by his side for over five decades – Kathleen White Osmond.

Wayne and Kathleen first met in January 1974 at a church event. At the time, Kathleen was a 21-year-old beauty queen, having been crowned Miss Davis County Fair and later Miss Utah 1974. Their first date took place in February, when Wayne took her to lunch and on a scenic plane ride over the valley. By November of that same year, they were engaged, and on December 13, 1974, they were married.

Kathleen was studying education at Brigham Young University when she gave up her Miss Utah title to focus on her new life with Wayne. Throughout their marriage, which lasted more than 50 years, she remained a constant source of love, strength, and support – especially during Wayne’s career in music.

Together, they raised five children: Amy (born 1976), Steven (1978), Gregory (1980), Sarah (1982), and Michelle (1986). Their oldest daughter, Amy Osmond, went on to win the title of America’s Junior Miss in 1994. Now married to Jeff Cook and a mother of five, Amy shared a heartfelt tribute to her father on Instagram after his passing. She posted a video taken of Wayne in September and wrote, “This is the most special video that was taken in September that I never posted… now I know why. Thank you to all of his beautiful friends who have supported him, Mom, and our whole family throughout the years.”

Wayne Osmond’s passing leaves a lasting void not only in the world of music but in the hearts of those who knew him as a devoted husband, father, and man of faith. His life was a testament to love, family, and the quiet strength of a partner who stood beside him every step of the way.
