Introduction

Sometimes the hardest part of healing begins long before the surgery.
It started just minutes after Indy arrived at the hospital. A nurse gently applied numbing cream to the inside of both of her arms, explaining that it would help ease the pain of the blood draw she would soon have to face. It was meant to make things easier—but for Indy, it was the moment reality truly sank in.
The tears came quietly at first.
No child looks forward to needles, hospital rooms, or the uncertainty that comes with a major procedure. In that small moment, all the bravery she had been carrying suddenly felt heavy. Fear, worry, and emotion overflowed in a way only a child can express.
Yet through every tear, there was also something remarkable: courage.
Her family stayed by her side, offering comforting words, holding her hand, and reminding her that she wasn’t facing this journey alone. Sometimes strength doesn’t look like smiling through the pain—it looks like crying, taking a deep breath, and finding the courage to keep going anyway.
Those few minutes in the hospital became a powerful reminder that healing is about far more than medicine. It’s about love that never lets go, faith that carries us through the unknown, and the quiet heroes who face frightening moments with incredible resilience.
Every tear told a story. Every reassuring hug brought hope. And every small step forward was one step closer to a brighter tomorrow.
Please continue to keep Indy and her family in your thoughts and prayers as they walk this journey together. ❤️🙏
